I have to admit I’m a bit of a Yoga and exercise fanatic. You’ll find me in one of two places. At the gym or at one of my many yoga classes I visit during the week. My friends worry about me overdoing it but it’s my life and I love it! Now this probably won’t be a revalation for most of you but I’ve recently been introduced to to wonders of a yoga ball. What’s a yoga ball you might ask? Well no surprises for guessing it’s a ball and it’s use in yoga. Maybe none of you would ask that question! Anyway, the idea behind it is that you can use it to spice up your yoga routine and keep things interesting. You can use the ball to do a variety of poses and make them even tougher than normal.
I’ve referred to it constantly as a yoga ball so far but it’s quite frequently known as a stability ball too. It’s also not just used for yoga but for a variety of exercises. It works more muscle groups because you have to to remain stable on the ball. This means a better workout and better results in the long term. Due to the way it is shaped it’s also great for helping your stretch just that little bit further. Another good thing about them is that they are relatively inexpensive and don’t take up much room. They are easy to transport since they’re filled with air! It’s a really great investment on the whole. Yoga balls come in all different sizes so you might have to try a few out before you get one that suits your workout routine and your body shape.
