Liposuction Methods of Removing Fat

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

In an attempt to improve results and minimize the impact of some common side effects of liposuction there has been continuous development in various techniques to performing the traditional fat removal procedure. One very popular technique is known as laser liposuction whereby a laser is used to literally melt the fat. The liquefied fat is then suctioned out with a tube. This is the same principle as traditional liposuction except the laser offers a much more accurate way of targeting fat cells while causing minimal damage to the surrounding area.

The benefit of laser lipo reaches beyond the surgery room and allows the patient to experience a much shorter recovery time. The typical patient will take just one day to rest before being cleared to return to work and normal daily activities. Other advantages are associated with the fact that the laser technique is often used in small procedures. This means that only local anesthesia is required and anesthesia makes up a good chunk of the overall prices for liposuction.

Another similarly minded plan was the invention of ultrasonic liposuction. In contrast the laser lipo and traditional lipo this technique offers a nonsurgical way of bursting the fat cells before the incision is made to insert the cannula or suction tube to remove the fat. Ultrasonic liposuction, known as UAL, is the type of liposuction that involves using a high pitched sound wave to liquefy fat in a specific part of the body to be treated in order that it may be simpler to eradicate.

Ultrasonic is a sort of liposculpture that is normally required for body fat elimination in tough to deal with and near the bone parts including the neck, cheeks, chin, knees, calves and ankles. Ultrasonic does in addition work as an effective supplementary procedure to other types of liposculpture for patients who wish for more exact body contouring.

How Safe is Liposuction

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

Liposuction is the most popular of cosmetic surgery procedures in the country and for good reason. It is generally regarded as a relatively safe procedure and while all risk cannot be eliminated 100% there are some very basic considerations to keep in mind that would greatly reduce the possibility of any complication major or minor. On the patient’s part ample research is important before making the final decision to go under the knife. It is the surgeon’s job to practice all precautions leading up to the surgery and proper clean up after. But it starts with the patient who must shop for a surgeon. A low cost surgeon can be extremely risky if there are no past clients who can be contacted as references and the surgeon has little or no experience performing liposuction in particular. A surgeon can claim to have years of plastic surgery experience but it has to be related to the treatment the patient is requesting.

Liposuction Prices Drive Me Crazy

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

Looking at different prices for liposuction is starting to drive me crazy. Does any of this make sense to anyone? I’ve found such a variation in prices, it’s ridiculous. You’ve got some cosmetic surgeons offering low cost liposuction for something like $800 to start with. $800! Then you’ve got someone in the same town doing the same procedure and charging $6,000. What is going on here people? And how on earth does the $6,000 doctor stay in business over the guy charging $800? I gotta say, that must be one heck of a business model they’ve got going to keep that working, year after year….

Well, I should stop letting such things get under my skin. Soon enough, I will have all the figured, and the cost of liposuction will be a moot point in my history as I flex my muscles in the mirror, happy because 10 pounds of fat is GONE.
